“For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Where do you keep your treasure? Is your larger here on earth or is it larger in heaven? Something to think about as you listen to Pastor Salem’s devotional.
This week we have April 15th coming along, so we all think of the IRS and income tax day. By the way, April 15 was also the day that the great Titanic sank and also the Day that Abraham Lincoln was shot. But of all these awful events, April 15 is IRS day. Did you ever stop to think that the words “THE” and “IRS” spells “THEIRS.” And you can’t get around it. EXCEPT, there is a way around it; Jesus told us about it. “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal. But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through and steal. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” (Matthew 6: 19-21). So learn a lesson. If you don’t want the moths and the rust and the thieves and the IRS to get it, give it to God, it is safe there. And if you do that, your heart will be in the right place, too!
