What  would you say if I told you that I know of someone who will take all your worries and not even charge you?  Sounds too good to be true? Well it isn't.  The Great God in Heaven tells us He will carry our cares whatever they might be.
I recently heard about a man who worried constantly. It never ended, and wherever you met him, he was in a frenzy. People worried about his health. He was a first class mess. And then it happened”he changed completely and was singing and laughing and feeling as free as a bird in the breeze. Finally someone had enough nerve to ask him what happened, You were so down in the dumps and dismal, now you are a completely new person; we don't understand. What happened?
The man replied, I worry no more because I have hired a man to worry for me. Wow, good idea, how much do you have to pay him for his services? The man happily replied, I have to pay him $10,000 a week. Mercy me, his friend replied, how on earth can you afford that? Well, the fellow replied, I really can't, but that's HIS worry.
I don't know if that is true or not, but I do know it would be worth a lot if we could find someone who would worry for us and set us free from that problem. What would you say if I told you that I know of someone who will take all your worries and not even charge you? Sounds too good to be true? Well it isn't. King David tells us, Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee. (Psalm 55:22).
David, who went through trials that few of us, if any, will pass through, found Him. David tells us if we give our worries to the Lord God, He will carry them for us. Really, Jesus told us the very same thing when He was here and declared, Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. (Matthew 11: 28-30). Isn't that beautiful. And listen to St. Peter tell the suffering, afflicted Christians of the first century, Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you. (I Peter 5:7). Isn't that wonderful? The Great God in Heaven tells us He will carry our cares whatever they might be.
You say, that sounds too good to be true; there must be a catch to it. Well, you are right; there is a catch to it; something you have to do before you can leave your worries, your cares, your heartaches, and all the other things that plague us at Jesus feet. Let me tell you what you have to do. You have to become His child. The popular teaching today is that we are all the children of God because God created us. But God created the animals and they are not His children. Jesus tells us as plain as day, in order to be a child of God; we have to receive Him into our hearts. In John 1:12 Jesus clearly spells this out when he declares, But as many as received Him, to them gave He the power to become the sons, or children, of God. Jesus tells us we have to be born again in order to be His child. Listen to Him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. (John 3:5).
Here Jesus Himself tells us we are not His child until we receive Him into our heart. So you reply, fair enough but how can I be born again? Friend, listen, it is such a simple transaction that I, as a 10 year old boy, was born again. That was 85 years ago and Jesus has resided in my heart all these years, and every day He becomes more beautiful and precious. This is how the new birth takes place. It is spelled out in the Book of Revelation chapter 3 verse 20 and reads: Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come into him, and will sup with him, and he with me. Jesus, by His spirit is speaking to your heart right now asking to come into your heart and life. But, He will not enter until and unless you ask Him in. So, this is what you do. In your own words, in your own way, just tell Jesus, Dear Jesus, please come into my heart and take away my sin. I am sorry for my sin. I will love you and follow you always. Thank you. In Jesus Name. Amen.
If you prayed that prayer, you are a child of God and the way is open to go to Him for help no matter what it is. He will take away your worries and your fears and give you peace and joy. How can you beat that?
