"A New Song" JULY 2019
Dear fellow worker of the Christian Worship Hour:
Do you ever wonder what I think about every week when I get up to preach? We don’t know
each other–you can see me on TV but I cannot see you—so I have no idea of what you look
like, where you live, how you worship, or who you are. But none of that really matters.
Long before I get up to preach, I pray. And what do I pray?
I PRAY THAT ALL WILL BE SAVED. We have a false teaching that since God created us, He is our Father and everyone is His child. That is not true, God created the cattle on a thousand hills, but that does not make them His children. (Psalm 50:10). Jesus taught, as clear as a bell, that a person must be born again (John 3:3) and if not born again, they would be lost forever! (John 1:12). St. Paul prayed that Israel might be saved (Romans 10:1), so I pray that every listener to the Christian Worship Hour will also be saved.
I PRAY THAT ALL WILL GROW IN GRACE. When we accept Jesus into our heart and life, we are born again, that is, we are placed in the Body of Christ. (I Cor. 12:13). But when we start the Christian walk, we are spiritual babies and we have to grow. God wants us to grow into the full stature of Jesus Christ so that, instead of a bunch of whining babies, we have soldiers of the cross conquering the devil’s territory. (Hebrews 5:12-14). That calls for Bible reading and study, witnessing for Christ, being in church if able-bodied, helping others in the cause of Christ.
I PRAY THAT ALL WILL SERVE JESUS. That is, that everyone who names the Name of Jesus will do something for Him. If you are a shut-in, you can serve Jesus by being sweet, by telling those around you how Jesus helps you. Always be ready to put in a good word for our Lord. (Peter 3:15). For the able-bodied, help someone in need. Bake them a cake, if you are able to make something fit to eat. Rake some lawns, clean some windows, and serve those you know. And, for goodness sake, help others come to know our Lord.
I PRAY FOR ALL WHO ARE AFRAID. I know full well that some are afraid of death, and well they should be if they do not personally know the Lord. (Heb. 10:31). There are all sorts of fears running around the countryside. Fear of old age, fear of poor health, fear of what tomorrow may bring, fear of losing our job, fear of losing a loved one, there is just no end. So my prayer is that those who worship with us will find faith in the Savior and place all things in His hands. They are loving, nail-pierced hands, and they will bring comfort, if we lean on Jesus. (I Peter 5:7).
I PRAY THAT WE WILL ALL MEET IN HEAVEN! Won’t it be great when we get to heaven and gather around the throne of God. (Rev. 5:9,10). And though we have not met in this world, we will meet, and know each other in the next and better world. We will meet, and know all the saints of the ages, and those who worshipped around the Christian Worship Hour because we worshipped Jesus, we will be drawn closer to each other in the celestial land. So, take heart teammate, and help us carry on. (Rev. 21:3-7).
I PRAY FOR THE FAMILIES OF ALL WHO WORSHIP WITH US. We get so many letters from so many needs, physical, emotional, health and spiritual. We pray for all the parents, grandparents, for their children having problems. (Matt. 11:28,29). God told us to “Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.” (Isaiah 40:1).
I PRAY THAT THE CHRISTIAN WORSHIP HOUR WILL FIND a place in the heart of all who worship with us that will cause everyone to pray that our Father in heaven will bless and use this ministry to His glory. That He will lay it upon the hearts of His people to provide for our needs, (II Cor. 9:6-8) our only source of income. (Phil. 4:19).
God bless you, I’ll be looking for you this weekend.
In our Savior’s Love,
Harold E. Salem, Pastor
THANK YOU FOR WRITING…
I watched the show today. My faith has faltered and hope is weak. Pastor Salem blessed me today with the message. I prayed with him and feel restored! Please lift me up in prayer. I need a job! It’s been difficult but I continue to look and believe that the Lord has a job for me. Thank you for blessing me and others with the show and Pastor Salem. May God continue to bless all of you.
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS
Greetings and God’s Blessing to you and yours! I’ve watched you since I was 9 with my Mom, Grandpa and Grandma who now dwell with the Lord. God blessed me with a new friend and brethren who is a big help. I’ve lived with seizures 39 years. For that reason, though, he knows how to talk to me and help me when I seize in public and keep out of trouble with them. Anyway Pastor Salem, thank you for all you do for us and keep up the great work. God bless!
RAPID CITY, SOUTH DAKOTA
I recommend you keep that old sheepherder healthy and well. None finer to present the wonderful story of Jesus and His love for us. Praise the Lord. Thank you all.
ALVARADO, MINNESOTA
I want to thank you for your preaching and your outreach! I grew up in a Pentecostal Church but I backslid and was lost. I saw your program online and accepted Jesus into my heart. I wanted to affirm my faith. I have seen myself change and now I have purpose in my life. Please pray for me that God may walk with me forever more!
BRONX, NEW YORK
It means a lot to hear your closing each week—–“The Christian Worship Hour loves you and Jesus loves you—and I love you—God bless you, everyone!” I wait for that loving closure each week. I really feel your love looking right at me through the TV. Means a lot to a lonely guy in prison. Thank you! See you Sunday morning!
SALEM, OREGON
I have an assisted living facility in Early, Texas. Our residents love to watch the Christian Worship Hour every Sunday morning. The message is so simple to understand. My residents repeat the prayer asking for Christ to come into their lives and forgive their sins every week. God bless you for all of your years of service for the Lord.
EARLY, TEXAS
I am 90 years old. I had polio when I was 18 months old and was paralyzed from the waist down. My parents were wonderful Christians who prayed and fasted for my healing. It seemed my dear Lord embraced me as a Father would his child and showed me that this was His will for me. I understood and accepted it. It’s OK! He promised to be always with me through all my needs and praise God, He never has failed me. When I was able to stand, I was on crutches, then a walker, wheelchair and now bedrest… God helped me to graduate from high school, get a job, married a Christian man, had a wonderful daughter, son-in-law and 3 great grandchildren. What a great God we serve!!
CASPER, WYOMING
I listen to you early Sunday morning. Then I walk to a Baptist Church less than one block from where I live. Today is Mother’s Day. (I am a male) I felt tired and said there is no way I can go to church today. Listening to your prayers and telecast, after your program was over I got right up out of bed. Like you healed me. Dressed myself and went to church. I am 74 years old.
WEAUBLEAU, MISSOURI
Thank you all for being lights in a world of darkness by sharing the Good News of salvation through Christ Jesus!
SALEM, OREGON
“And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.”
(Revelation 14:13)
