This week we observe Valentine’s Day with all of its hearts, love, and the like. It reminds me of a young man who went into a jewelry store and said, “I want the most beautiful gold heart you have in the store, and I want you to hang it on the finest gold chain you have. It‘s for my fiancee.” After a long search, the young man said, “I’ll take that one.” “And shall I inscribe her name on it?” the sales person inquired. “Oh, no!” came the instant reply. “If we break up, I may want to use it again!” WOW, what kind of love is that? But, sad to say, it happens all too often and it results in broken hearts and dreams.
But do you know what? I can tell you of a love that never fails, no matter what! By that I mean, it is an eternal love and it comes from the heart of God. Nothing in heaven or earth can break it.
If you are interested, then ask Jesus to come into your heart and take away your sins. God has promised, For whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13).
Friend, if you prayed that prayer, the apostle Paul tells us you are kept forever in the eternal love of God. Listen to him describe it. “For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38, 39).
For a real Valentine’s day, revel in the love of God!
